6 Responses to “how do I make a COLD spinach dip?”
1 cup chopped cooked spinach (1 10 oz. frozen pkg.)
1 cup sour cream
1 cup mayonnaise
6 green onions, chopped
1 8-ounce can water chestnuts, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup chopped parsley
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 teaspoons pepper
Salt to taste
# Squeeze the spinach dry and pat it down with paper towels.
# In a medium bowl stir together all ingredients until well combined.
# Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
(This recipe can be prepared in a food processor and/or a day ahead with great results.)
# Serve chilled with sour dough bread and raw vegetable dippers like turnip slices and red pepper strips. Or serve in a scooped-out sour dough bread bowl, if desired, and save the scooped-out bread for dippers.
Use the one that you make in a hollowed out loaf of round bread. Look for Knorr’s Veggie soup mix(I think) in the soup aisle and I bet the recipe is on the box. Spinach, water chestnuts, sour cream and mayo I think.
Here is a link to a pretty classic spinach dip. Usually served in a hollowed out sour dough round. Use the pieces of the bread you hallowed out to dip with.
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen chopped spinach
1 (8 oz.) carton sour cream
1 c. mayonnaise
1 sm. onion, chopped
1 (8 1/2 oz.) can water chestnuts, chopped
1 pkg. Knorr vegetable soup
Defrost, drain and squeeze water from spinach. Add rest of ingredients. Blend well and refrigerate overnight. Serve with crackers, raw vegetables or party breads.
SPINACH DIP
Spinach

I use seasoning of choice like italian, veg soup(dry)
some ranch dressing, anything to jaz it up.salt pepper
crab meat canned or fresh or chopped imitation. mix together til smooth and creamy
easy last minute recipe, noone knows i thru it together last minute. Does taste better after sitting as any dip does, but usually have this stuff on hand.
I see this was recommended a simiular one by another person so I put this one in too, this one I love but have to purchase stuff ahead of time. I add crab to this one to and sometimes serve warm with melted cheese on top.
